Sorry being a noob about these things, but there seems to be another blu-ray Cardcaptor Sakura torrent also done by coalgirls. My question is, are both the same? Or is there a difference? Both seem similiar in both codecs and resolution. Any help? Also thanks for posting this series. I loved Cardcaptor Sakura as a kid, who unfortunately had to see the english dub. Hopefully now I can see the series in it's purest, unedited form.

this is 720p and that was 1080p
that is a better quality than this
however that file hasn't been approved yet

Actually, I think he's talking about the other B class torrent, which is the same resolution and bitrate as this one. SSJSilva, the other torrent seems to be encoded with the still standard 8-bit encoding, while this one is using the state-of-the-art, cutting-edge 10-bit encoding, which gives better quality and lower file sizes, but isn't very well supported among codecs and players yet. There's a long, acrominious discussion about it in the forum.

The irony is that this torrent is larger than the other. Oh CoalGirls.

The blu-ray versions make the colors over saturated.  I wish BakaBt still offered the dvd versions from O-A.

(wow I'm so tired of people complaining about the file size)

Anyway, amazing torrent as always, thank you! I was actually very surprised at how smoothly it went through. I left it unattended for just a few hours and the download was finished =D
The seeding seems to be doing extremely well, too, so it'll probably reach full circle in no time, thanks again!

I had the other B class version some months ago and I remember it was infused with certain cuts (opening skips and whatnot), which none of my players ever handled properly so it was always a hassle. It seems to me like this version is free of that, or at least It's not bothering my players anymore, so I'm very happy with this. As always, gorgeous colors, although it does take some time to get used to (as it can get slightly too bright at times).

I think I'll stick with 8-bit not for suck-old players, but for more familiar DVD-ish soft colors I used to (this look oversaturated to me). Anyway thanks. :-D

Wait, why is the FLAC version of this a smaller filesize? its by the same group and everything and its almost 5Gb smaller, is it because of the advanced compression in Hi10bit???
Also, does anyone know where to find this in 480P with English audio maybe?

This version also has FLAC audio.
The video quality of the other version is worse.
There's an English audio version on BakaBT, search for its English title...

it says it has specials but it has not been included within this torrent lol.
It's just the original 70 episodes. ;)

Great upload though. :)

I have 1280x960 16GB raws and they look the same, except some compression artefacts in dark areas. I hope someone will do a decent release for this great show. Anyway, thanks for effort.

Ahem... Well am I seeing it wrong or what but I think one of the pros of 10-bit H264 is "Significantly higher compression ratios resulting in vastly decreased file sizes." which I don't see in this version of 10-bit encode. If the reason of those huge file sizes are FLAC, how about using AAC for audio? Of course lets consider being more economical these days (Many of us knows the crazy price hike of HDD's).

Yes chappy, lets be economical

This is your solution, if you don't like it, too bad, this is your only option
While it is true this is larger than the same files in 8 bit, it is also true the quality is marginally better. Otherwise this would not even be on the site. The extra few GB should not be enough to warrant complaints

54 GB? Hah! I saw someone make a 380+ GB offer for all 4 seasons of Gintama on nyaa the other day; granted, they were all ISO, but in comparison, this torrent's nothing to prod at. I've even dnl-d a Haruhi 1080p ver. where the colors were so bright, I felt like I had to squint to look at the screen; while I can't say anything about saturation, this release doesn't make me cringe. It pays to upgrade to terabyte PCs, folks; no more HDD hassle.

Damnit, this 10-bit asshattery kills me every time. I've gotten so accustomed to watching anime on my TV using a Boxee Box and there is a hardware limitation with 10-bit playback for all known current-gen boxes like Boxee.

The improvement from 8-bit to 10-bit for anime is marginal at best. I can't understand why some groups are compelled to use such bleeding edge tech when the player (non-desktop) support is still lacking. (Relaxing on couch watching anime on a 47" screen + simple to use remote) > (sitting standard reclining chair staring at a 19" screen on my desk). -_-

Anyway... rant over. Carry on. Meh.

2 options come to mind immediately, there are probably more, but these two are the first two.

1) learn how to re-encode...

2)buy a cable that converts computer monitor plug to HDMI, seriously, they cost sweet fuck all. Don't buy some cheap nasty one though...
Set your sights on one around $20 - $30
